TANEXPO 2008: Tremendous Success - Tanexpo - Funeral and Cemetery Trade show, Bologna, Italy

The 2008 edition of TANEXPO, the largest and most important European Exhibition for the funeral and cemetery industry, was attended by 16 thousand trade professionals during the three days, with a 10% raise on 2006 basis. The first time at the Bologna Exhibition Centre also recorded a growth in the exhibition area: 25.000 sq.m. covered, +15%. High presence of foreign visitors, 20% from 50 countries, confirming the previous editions trend.

Several successful events took place during the show:
:: the Design Exhibition, focused on cinerary urns and tombstones accessories;
:: The Silent Flowers, floral decoration at the Certosa monumental cemetery in Bologna, in collaboration with Flower Council of Holland floral designers;
:: the meetings, focused on cremation and new trends in the funeral organisation, heavily attended by qualified professionals, beyond expectations;
:: the Drawing Contest that offered the 2008's luckiest visitor the 64 sq.m. Showroom2008 by TANEXPO with new and specially designed furnishings accompanied by a wide variety of accessorised coffins, urns, and bronzes.

TANEXPO has been sponsored by the two Italian leading Federations: Fe.N.I.O.F. - National Federation of Funeral Directors, and Feder.Co.F.I.T. - Federation of Italian Funeral Sector, in addition to: TANEXPORT - Italian Consortium of Funeral and Cemetery Products Manufacturers, ASSOCOFANI - Italian Association of Coffin Manufacturers, IAFE - International Association of Organizers of Funeral Exhibitions, and ASCE - Association of Significant Cemeteries in Europe. For the first time, the 2008 edition was sponsored by FIAT-IFTA International Federation of Thanatologists Associations. During the exhibition days FIAT-IFTA President, Josep Cornet, officially handed over the first Associate Member Certificate to TANEXPO President, Mr. Nino Leanza.
